Did you know STAT comes from the Latin word “statim,” which means “immediately”? I have never known what it meant in the hospital shows, but I like the way it sounds – important and urgent when a TV doctor demands, “Get the defibrillator STAT! We’re losing him!” Not that I need anything too quickly here – it is what it is, I just liked the play on words…
Anyway, I got an online booklet from WordPress’s Jetpack with fireworks and exclamation points recounting the year 2015 on my blog. It was pretty cool actually – I look at the convenient bar chart every day to see if anyone is reading, but I don’t spend a lot of time looking at statistics. This was a compilation of all the important data on the blog for the past year.
For example, it told me which blog posts got the most comments; which ones got the most traffic and where the readers came from – how they found me, etc. My favorite statistic (because it is so random) is this: if my blog was an exhibit at the Louvre, it would take 4 days to get all the readers through it, and I have readers from 132 countries. Most of my readers come from the United States, but Canada, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom and Russia weigh in.
Here are the top three most read blog posts of 2015 in case you missed them:
